PANews October 20 news, according to Bloomberg, AI cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave saw its stock sold off due to its large debt burden and its continued pursuit of new capital, leaving some investors uneasy. JPMorgan stated that although CoreWeave faces debt concerns, its business fundamentals remain solid. JPMorgan analysts including Samik Chatterjee released a report saying that market concerns about CoreWeave's debt and cash burn are excessive. The report argues that CoreWeave's financing needs stem from rapid expansion rather than poor project economics. The report estimates that a typical 5-year "take-or-pay" contract has an unlevered internal rate of return of about 15%, higher than the company's 9% to 11% blended cost of capital. Each 1GW of fully loaded capacity can generate annual revenue of $10 billion to $15 billion, but each additional 1GW requires more than $35 billion in upfront capital expenditure. CoreWeave may not be able to support expansion with operating cash flow until 2030. Affected by rising bond yields, CoreWeave's stock price fell about 20% last week.
