Anthropic co-founder: AI could significantly boost U.S. GDP to $44 trillion

PANews October 17 news: Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark said on Saturday that AI capabilities are rapidly improving and will bring faster change across all fields. An internal economic model from the company predicts that by 2030, AI could drive U.S. economic output to grow substantially to $44 trillion. Speaking at the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bangkok, Clark said the international community needs to work together to establish "special and stringent rules" for this transformative technology. Clark said the forecast that U.S. GDP will reach $44 trillion "sounds very crazy" compared with the current level of just above $30 trillion, but AI is greatly accelerating scientific discovery. "As long as this technology continues to advance, such an outcome may occur."
