PANews reported on October 2 that according to Cointelegraph, Arthur Hayes, chief investment officer of Maelstrom Fund, said that U.S. policymakers may support AI and U.S. Treasury debt financing by printing money, thus pushing up cryptocurrency prices. Hayes said that AI companies need trillions of dollars to build data centers, and even if the price of their services is falling, they don’t have much choice but to print money and make the situation less bad. Hayes also discussed the possibility of a major Asian country switching from "mild tightening" to massive monetary stimulus, which could revive demand for scarce assets. On the European front, he said he was watching financial stress in France, including credit default swaps linked to BNP Paribas and French government bond spreads. Hayes said money printing will eventually happen at some point, but it's a slow-moving catastrophe beneath the surface.
